Several Ladies from the WINGS Ministry set out together for a day in Savannah, Georgia on June 27th.   They climbed aboard the church van and had a great time of fellowship during the trip, with games of "Name a Hymn" lead by Amber Fash and Karen Slate.  Our  church had planned a lunch for them at Paula Deen's Restaurant, "Lady & Sons" and it was definitely a hit with the group!  Eating together on the 3rd floor of the restaurant, they were wowed by Paula's delicious southern-style cuisine; especially the first course of "Hoe Cakes"... a sweet cornbread fritter topped with a garlic and cheese biscuit and then drizzled with sweet syrup!  They also enjoyed the fried chicken and creamed white corn from the all-you-can-eat buffet and a few even managed to save room for dessert!  After lunch, they walked along Congress Street to window shop and at times venture inside an antique store or two for souvenirs.  The group eventually found their way to a park and rested along the fountain wall while their bus captain for the day, Bonnie VandeVelde went back after the church van.  Many thanks to Dina Duchene for pulling it all together and to Bonnie for getting everyone there and back safely!
